Ontario's Geothermal Advocates

The Ontario Geothermal Association is a not-for-profit corporation, registered under the Corporations Act in June 2009.

The OGA's Board of Directors is setting goals to promote Ontario as a leader in North America, a proactive province in energy efficiency, environmentally clean, and an example in the reduction of greenhouse gasses.

We are serving Ontario’s designers, drillers, installers, equipment manufacturers and distributors.

We voice the province’s interests for a greener, cleaner and self sustainable energy source, high standards, assurance and public protection.

With the help of our members we want to become the one-stop geothermal information source in Ontario, promoting our best trained professionals and high performance manufacturers.

The Board of Directors top priority is to address:

• Public information and communication strategy.
• Lobbying all levels of government for specific programs and initiatives.
• Specific insurance programs.
• Financing programs for industry members, as well as consumers.
• System design training and Post-secondary and apprenticeship training.
• Competence based training programs in all areas of geothermal installation.
• Management of certification process.
• Enforcement of compliance with Ontario Building Code and CSA 448 (design and installation of earth energy systems).
• Inspection capabilities.
• Site organization and installation procedures.
• Third party review.
• Conflict resolution/mediation services for consumer and supplier.
• Identify and provide other benefits for our members and their clients.
